The police department has participated in the anti-drug program, DARE, for many years. The fifth grade students of Jackson Elementary School receive DARE instruction from our Officer Michael Foeger and Deputy Aaron Walsh of the Washington County Sheriff's Department. The officers visit a class once a week for 10 weeks, culminating in a DARE graduation ceremony. It's hoped that DARE will provide the students with the tools to resist the misuse of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol in their future years.
