Snow is not to be plowed into or across
streets; pushed against curbs; blown or deposited into streets.
This is a traffic hazard, blocks hydrants and mailboxes,
and slows down the Public Works Department's efforts to clear the
streets. As was the case last winter,
DPW employees are reporting people swearing at them for plowing
driveways shut. The laws of physics can't be broken: it's impossible
to push snow along a curb and not have it pile up along a driveway
opening! It doesn't accomplish anything to yell obscenities, and it
constitutes Disorderly Conduct. PLEASE
be careful when moving snow around and give our village employees,
and your neighbors, a
break.
